Shrag - On the Spines of Old Cathedrals

Witty to the last, Shrag have issued details of their final gig and single in a press release entitled 'And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Debt'. This, then, is that final single, and it's a great way for this great, largely unsung band to bow out. A genuine indie-pop gem, 'On the Spines of Old Cathedrals' is full of warmth, melancholy, ringing guitars, tear-drop keyboards and a bassline like Peter Hook in a perky mood.

It's a damn, damn shame Shrag are calling it a day. They may not have set the world on fire, but they sure as fuck warmed up my bedroom on many a morning! If you have yet to discover them - start here and work your way backwards.
