Les Techno - Guilty Pleasure
- by Ljubinko Zivkovic Release Date:2019-03-12 Label: Solid Bass Records

When a musician calls himself Les Techno, your first reaction will probably be that he is going for a quick buck on the dance music scene.
Listening to the track itself, you realize it is somebody who is more into the electro sound of the Eighties in all its shapes and forms, from Bowie via Psychedelic Furs, Talking Heads, New Order, keep on adding… Add to that some not so simplistic lyrics that you often encounter in some techno fare and you get the sense you have somebody who knows what they are doing.
Although it is a bit hard to decode the real name that hides behind the Les Techno pseudonym, you can scrap the info that it is a guy from New York, who initially started playing guitar with jazz giant Larry Coryell, no less, and has worked or done mixes for the likes of Run-DMC, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and worked with funk great Bernie Worrell.
Combined with the sound of the single that has a catchy ebb and flow coupled with Techno’s love for the Richard Butler-style vocals you are inclined to believe that Les Techno might be onto something here.
Whether he is too smart for his own good, can only be seen/heard when he comes up with more sounds.
