Teenagersintokyo - End it Tonight

by Dan Clay Rating:8 Release Date:2024-05-10

Masters of dark pop, teenagersintokyo release 'End it Tonight' from their eagerly awaited debut album Sacrifice at the end of the month. Three minutes of synth/guitar pop from a band hailing from down under but living in Sydney begs the question - why Tokyo? Thankfully when the music's this good who cares!

Already championed by Zane Lowe and the NME, Samantha Lin's lead vocals invite comparisons with Debbie Harry and there's a Blondie feel to the track which lifts it above similar fare.

"I lose myself every time I step outside," sings Lin, backed by a catchy melody and simple riff. Fans of CSS and Gossip will latch on to it immediately, driven with the same quirky beat but teenagersintokyo might appeal to a wider audience with their mix of funky looks and fearsome feel.

If this release is anything to go by, tonight is going to be the start of something good, not the end.
