The Radio Dept - Heavens on Fire

by Paul Downey Rating:9 Release Date:2010-04-06

The second single from the Radio Dept's latest offering 'Clinging to a scheme' is a cracking piece of indie pop heaven.

Beginning with a sample from Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore regarding youth culture, before descending into melodic guitars and dreamy vocals with the sweet sentiments 'one look at you, and heavens on fire'.

It could be one of the best releases of summer, and the Swedish outfit will be showcasing it worldwide in the coming months but most disappointingly (at the time of writing) not at any of the UK's festivals.

It is a good indication of 'Clinging to...' direction, and if it all sounds this tasty, we should all join this certain scheme soon.
