Micachu - Lips

by Rich Morris Rating: Release Date:

Mica Levi's third missive is a squat-pop classic: grubby, frayed and pungent as unwashed white boy dreads and passionate as a drunken debate about socialist anarchism by middle class post-grad trustafarians. It doesn't bother with anything as bourgeois as a chorus, instead showcasing a sound like a hornet going mental in a washing machine. But, as with its predecessor 'Golden Phone', Levi somehow makes all this irresistibly danceable, invoking the spirit of primal rock'n'roll while bringing it bang up to date with a vicious rap-rant about fakes, losers and liars. The University of Soundblab awards her a First in Pop Perversity.
