Jamaica - Ventura

by Diana Aqra Rating:7 Release Date:2014-03-31

Jamaica’s Ventura will wake you up for the summer, but it might be a little too standard rock-pop to get past the warm season - kind of like The Kooks but more dance-friendly. The vocals and compositions are impressive. The singer captures you into his romantic and adventurous world, while the guitarist breaks loose and cranks some tight riffs.

However, this band should definitely get louder and more extreme. That would have taken out of them out of the box of pop. Maybe next time.

This is still agood 80s throwback album for feeling fun in the summer, like something you expect to soundtrack a teen pop movie like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or Sixteen Candles, but only in a fast, in running around the city, kind of way. Blast out 'All Inclusive', 'Houdini', 'Same Smile' and “Two on Two”. They all shuffle you left to right and get you closer to those you love. It'll open up your heart an inch, if nothing else.
