Holy Vessels - Last Orders at the Marshall Arms

by Dan Clay Rating:7 Release Date:2012-11-12

It's hardly surprising that Mumford have influenced a legion of envious followers. While Laura Marling may be carving out her own folk niche, Brighton five-piece Holy Vessels have decided fusing the genre with a little psycadellica can't be a bad thing and, as their debut album Last Orders at the Marshall Arms demonstrates, it isn't.

So despite a rather country-tinged, hoe-down opening in 'Golden Hair', LOATMA fires into action on the subsequent song and lead single

and the sprightly 'In Your Water' show so well,.

Early promise then, and signs that for this band, their debut is unlikely to be their last order just yet.
