Moon Duo - Occult Architecture Vol.1

by Rob Taylor Rating:10 Release Date:2017-02-03

Shards of ecstatic guitar smothered with full cream milk, ah, I mean carefully calculated sortees of keyboard are what makes Moon Duo the cocktail of choice for discerning psych revellers. Sure, there are so many substrata of psych-rock, you could write a funkin’ wagnalls about it, but then while you cogitate over it with dick in hand, you’d be missing some of the coolest jam sessions of the decade. I’ve read a few reviews suggesting that Occult Architecture Vol.1 is complacent, whatever the fuck brings that conclusion, but why mess with a formula that continues to satisfy. Shit, I mean that's like changing the recipe for a good batch of E.

Moon Duo’s Ripley’s believe it or not may not be for everyone, but then what’s the point of getting all pentecostal on the unconverted who can’t be converted. It’s like aged bourbon. You either drink the shit or not, and some superannuated octogenarian sitting on an aging cask smacking on about 25 years of maturation is not going to change your mind. Get with the programme and realise that Moon Duo are playing some seriously trippy shit that lulls you from the first bars into a place you were when you were the most happy.

Nuff said.
