Lostprophets' singer pleads guilty to child sex offences

Lostprophets' Ian Watkins has pleaded guilty to a series of child sex offences, including attempting to rape a baby.

The 36-year-old singer from Pontypridd had previously denied the allegations but pleaded guilty to attempted rape and sexual assault of a child under 13. However, he pleaded not guilty to rape which was accepted by the prosecution.

Watkins and two female fans in their 20s had been due to stand trial at Cardiff Crown Court. Watkins admitted 13 offences over five years.

Lostprophets disbanded after selling 3.5m albums. Fans had attended court to show their support, reported the Guardian.

Evidence against Watkins came from laptops, mobile phones and computers. Police found meth, cocaine and GHB during their searches. Sentencing will take place on 18 December.

I think this is worse than Glitter. Maybe it's just more shocking as it's not the 70s.

I just cannot comprehend what makes someone do this. As a parent myself I find it sickening to another level.
