Ann Courtney of Mother Feather & Joshua Valleau of Wolvves Announce New Side Project

Ann Courtney of pop-cock-rock outfit Mother Feather and Joshua Valleau of avant-garde electro-dance-rap ensemble Wolvves announced recently via social media the formation of a new musical endeavour, Joshua Skate Party.

In Courtney’s own words, "Equipped with a name, hearts on fire, a blooming garden of synthesizers and drum machines, and a few heavy crates of 80s and 90s house, funk, and R&B, it inspired thousands of hours in the studio making music that only had one prerequisite: to sound like the kind of music we needed to make together. Music from that liminal place where love intersects with heartbreak, memory, and fantasy. Songs that would make you break curfew for another few laps around the rink."

Joshua Skate Party will make their live debut at New York’s Mercury Lounge on July 9th. Their first single, “Ann & Lola”, will be released soon after and there are plans for a full tour in the works.

Courtney continued, “we’ve been incubating the songs in secret for a few years, and this summer we are going to take them outside for the first time and debut them live.”
