Later this month, Minnesota’s rising indie rock act Hippo Campus will resume their dominating tour across the United States. The St. Paul natives had a breakthrough 2018, delivering their second LP Bambi, the follow-up to their aptly titled debut Landmark from 2017 – the latter of which featured production by B.J. Burton, the man to give Soundblab’s Album of the Year Double Negative by Low its broken aesthetic.

2019 will continue the sprint. Over the last five years since their inception, Hippo Campus has toured constantly; headlining album tours, but also attracting solid crowds at their festival appearances for Sasquatch and Bonnaroo. Their most recent tour featured sold-out shows at iconic venues like Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club and Philadelphia’s Union Transfer. No small feat for a newish band.

For their upcoming leg of the Bambi tour, they’ll be bringing fellow Minnesota band Now, Now with them. After numerous delays, the duo released their long-awaited third album in 2018 Saved to much acclaim. The two bands will set sail on the 24th with an already sold out performance at Des Moines’ Wooly’s venue, before trekking West. In mid-February, they’ll cross the pond for some European dates, before finishing up this Spring in Australia. So far, their only US festival date is at the Firefly Festival in Delaware in June.
