John Carpenter announces soundtrack to new Halloween movie

John Carpenter has revealed details of his upcoming soundtrack to the eleventh Halloween movie. To be released on Sacred Bones on October 19th, the new movie sees Carpenter involved once again, the first time since Halloween III, as creative consultant and executive producer.
The movie, directed by David Gordon Green, sees Jamie Lee Curtis reprise her role from the original movie, four decades on.
Carpenter teamed up with his son Cody and regular collaborator Daniel Davies who explained: “We wanted to honour the original Halloween soundtrack in terms of the sounds we used. We used a lot of the Dave Smith OB-6, bowed guitar, Roland Juno, Korg, Roli, Moog, Roland System 1, Roland System 8, different guitar pedals, mellotron, and piano.”
John Carpenter also had this to say about the soundtrack: “It was transforming. It was not a movie I directed, so I had a lot of freedom in creating the score and getting into the director's head. I was proud to serve David Gordon Green’s vision.”
