The Districts reveal video for new single 'Violet'

The Districts have unveiled the official video for “Violet” view below. It’s the latest single from their new album, Popular Manipulations, which is out now on Fat Possum.
“For this video we wanted to put the viewer in a state of anxiety through the eyes of a young man unable to shake the feeling of uncontrollable suburban terror,” explains the band. “The main character is out of place in a nice setting and needs to find an escape which he does in a weird but beautiful way.”
They continue, “Now more than ever with our political state, it can be extremely hard to find optimism when everything points to doom. That being said, simple moments like finding out our president eats his burnt steak with ketchup are too funny to not see this whole crazy world as a very sad, hilarious joke that will likely soon implode.”
“Anxiety and dread are very hard and tricky issues to deal with. Like the character in this video, we went out on a limb to do something that doesn't quite make sense but at the end of the day makes us feel much better,” they conclude.
The Districts have been full steam ahead since the release of Popular Manipulations. They’re currently on an extensive European tour that began at Reading and Leeds Festivals. Starting next month, they’ll head out on another U.S. headline tour. A full list of dates is below.
