Jack White breaks record for Record Store Day

Jack White has officially broken the record for the fastest studio-to-store time for a new release.

Jack recorded the song, a live version of a track from his new album Lazaretto, at 10am Central Standard Time on Record Store Day (April 19), in front of a small audience in the Blue Room at Third Man's Nashville studio.

The masters were then sped to United Record Pressing, where copies were immediately pressed. The 45s were personally taken by White to be sold to waiting fans.

The new record set by White is five hours, 55 minutes and 21 seconds, according to a tweet from his label, Third Man Records. The previous record was held by Swiss accordion trio Vollgas Kompanie, which released a live album one day after recording it.

Lazaretto is due June 10 on Third Man Records/Columbia.
