I'm not much of a Jazz aficionado but I do dip my toe in. Ayler's Truth Is Marching In grabbed my ear. I loved what he did with the theme of Battle Hymn and turned it on end. I picked up The Impulse Story and that's about my exposure. I liked 1/2 of the album and have to say you have to me in the mood for this stuff. Its the furthest from easy listening but that's the point. So, I appreciate the tip off on Summertime and this release.

Thanks for the list! I got their debut a few years back and confess it left me cold but. But I know I'm missing out on some great stuff. So this is a big help in terms of how to approach them. Much appreciated!

Massive Kinks fan here. My 2 cents: Something Else tops my list. One of my fave albums of all time. Followed by Village Green. Their debut & Kontroversy are classics in my book. I think Powerman has some amazing stuff on it but is overall inconsistent & overrated. Feel the same about Arthur. Muswell gets my vote for their strongest 70's album. Word of Mouth also holds up remarkably well.

No one knows Tillett over here but a great live album...Outhouse is Blaze at his finest...And agree on Flinch. The guitar sound makes me flinch. But his performance is pretty fab...

Believe it or not, just booked and acting gig for the show Wu Tang: An American Saga. So this article actually helped with my research. Hehehe. Missed the boat on these guys back in the day but guess, better late than never.

Big fan of Times Fades Away so was wondering if this was extraneous or not. Sounds like, not! Of course this tour turned out to be a miserable experience for Young. You can hear the fatigue, frustration and anger in Time Fades. So will be interesting to hear Neil and the Gators before things turned quite so sour.

Really interesting and fantastic list! A lot I'm familiar with and a lot of things to check out! Which makes me a very happy music fan indeed. And great to see folks like Mike Cooper, Anne Briggs getting some attention. Not to mention the great Jackie Leven's St. John Field! Thanks for putting this together!
