Thanks Steve. Saw so many of those SoCal bands (and the punk ones too) coming through the I-10 corridor in Houston.

Thanks Howard. Not sure anyone will ever top your six day run at SXSW!

Saw her with This Is The Kit last Summer - they were fantastic!

I hope you’re not talking about that faucet commercial. I bought a case of them.

Awesome list and very cool thing to share! I miss Mark E. Smith and his contributions to the craft very much. I managed to review three of these classic albums for our site, so I guess I must have had some semblance of similar taste. Love Charlie Feathers as well - another true iconoclast.

Thanks guys. All these artists should be national heroes, but sadly go mostly unknown.

Great list. Parts of Lou Reed's Blue Mask go somewhere beyond depressing for me - brutally confessional I guess. Not sure the album itself is depressing, but Pink Moon always makes me feel sad (or at least needing another scotch). I couldn't even listen to the Mount Eerie album Tim mentioned - I tried.

Ah - one band that I was early on and then lost track. Will always have a soft spot for Murmur, Document and the Chronic Town EP. Lost track somewhere around Monster.

Sounds a little bit like 'Black Betty'!

The one on here that resonates the most with me is Johnny Cash. So glad he had that late in life reinvention. One of my most memorable concert moments was seeing Johnny and June at the 9:30 Club circa 1995. She in particular was lively as Hell and had plenty of off color comments to share. Fleet Foxes is a good catch. Seems obvious, but I wouldn't have thought of it. Good to know that the Aerosmith return to form is almost twice as good as Iron Maiden's. I'll keep it in mind for desperate times.
