My favorite band to see live. I just saw Beck and Cage the Elephant at a music festival, so not sure I can bear to see my beloved Spoon in an opener spot though I have my ticket for the moment. I still lose my shit every time they play 'My Mathematical Mind', which I know is also not on here. They have always seemed to me a band everyone should know and instantly love, so if this gets them more exposure all the better. Good take on the compilation.

Thanks Andy. It's right up there with his other work and makes clear how much he's been missed.

Thanks Jak - appreciate you taking a look. I hadn't heard White Dogs before but sounds pretty cool. Reminds me of 'Waiting For My Man' as it picks up steam.

Very cool - glad you got to see them. I saw them early on and it was pretty much a punk show, which was fine with me. Good to see them still going strong.

Thanks Carrie. I love both these artists but was expecting a few more sparks I guess. I know artists have to change, grow, etc but the prior album was so good and sonically charged I was hoping for more.

Yeah - no way I could pick myself either so went with the Discogs ratings. He’s definitely been saving up some great one liners! Would love to catch one of the shows.

Wow! That’s a blast from the past. My best friend had the Sundown on Venus album. Played it all the time. Good call.

Hey Tim - great list and a lot for me to explore that I'm not familiar with. Though Yo La Tengo's peak may have come a bit before this time, I'd still argue that some of their 2000 and beyond work still have a mix of dream/drone/shoegaze going on.

Great list! I used to listen to a ton of old time country. If I were going to lobby for an addition who actually went all over the musical spectrum it would be Marty Robbins. Never get tired of him.
