If you know a Texan, you know they are obnoxiously rabid about the greatness of The Lone Star State. Count me among them, though I try to tone it down a bit. I've been displaced since 1991 but was fortunate to see many shows by Texas singer/songwriter legends. There must be something in the water down there, but these songwriters are bar none some of the finest out there and seem to be muses to each other often working together. One of my concert highlights was seeing Lyle Lovett, Guy Clark, Joe Ely, and Texan for a night John Hiatt one-up each other song after song for several hours.
