Well, this isn't all English, Scottish, and Welsh folk music, because there's some electric and rather eccentric stuff here. But these artists all played an instrument, sang, and occasionally wrote the odd tune. There are a few "trad. arr. " songs mixed in with originals. These are albums from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. And some of these people are still doing it today! Now, there are great singer-songwriters in the current milieu like Thea Gilmore, James Yorkston, Karine Polwart, Laura Marling, and Seth Lakeman. But that's another list, as is one given to Irish musicians. By the way, big names like Rod Stewart, Elton John, and Paul McCartney have been omitted in order to protect the innocent. But, thankfully, Macca's younger brother made the cut! Click an album below to read a review

Really interesting and fantastic list! A lot I'm familiar with and a lot of things to check out! Which makes me a very happy music fan indeed. And great to see folks like Mike Cooper, Anne Briggs getting some attention. Not to mention the great...

Really interesting and fantastic list! A lot I'm familiar with and a lot of things to check out! Which makes me a very happy music fan indeed. And great to see folks like Mike Cooper, Anne Briggs getting some attention. Not to mention the great Jackie Leven's St. John Field! Thanks for putting this together!
