Neil Young - Every Album Ranked

Parquet Courts recently released a cover of "We R in Control" from Neil Young's 1982 "Trans" album. I just saw Car Seat Headrest perform "Powderfinger" live. The admiration of Neil's music has always seemed more prevalent from young bands than other mainstays like the Velvet Underground or even Dylan. Forty years ago I saw Neil's concert film "Rust Never Sleeps" and fell hard. I've looked forward to every release since. When I first heard the vocoder and synthesizer-drenched "Trans" album I thought there had been a mix-up but I love the album now. Neil's recent output seems a bit lackluster, but I wouldn't be surprised someday to hear a great cover from "the Visitor", the last album on my list. Click an album below to read a review
