Albums of the Year 2017
Another year in a messed up world comes to an end. Away from music it was possibly not as bad as 2016 but the big orange thing still rises every morning, and I'm not talking about the sun.
As with every other year of this decade, if you're prepared to look hard enough, you'll discover amazing new music. Albums that would have been massive 20 years ago are barely getting a mention, outside of online publications that genuinely care about music. Albums by Protomartyr, Wand and Vermont are future classics but those artists need our support now. Hopefully things will change as we near the end of the decade, wouldn't it be great if the following albums reached more people?
These are our top albums of 2017, in no particular order, just over 150 great albums that you need to hear. Go find them, buy them, support new music, don't live in the past.
EDIT: I also want to give a mention to two albums that we didn't review this year that would otherwise be on the list. Priests - Nothing Feels Natural and H. Grimace - Self Architect.
