Jumping Ships

Heart and Hope

Alcopop! Records

Released: Monday 7 March 2011

'Heart and Hope' is the first single from Brighton-based rockers Jumping Ships since they signed with Alcopop! Records back in January. The fact that this single was released just two short months after signing with the label means that it must have been a pretty stressful time for the band. Not that you would ever guess this from the truly awesome result, as there has been no compromise when it comes to their familiar anthemic lyrics and catchy hooks. This track is a real treat. Fans of the boys may have been expecting the immediacy of past single 'The Whole Truth' and at first listen there may have been an inkling of disappointment that it wasn't quite as catchy. However, after giving the song a couple of listens, it quickly reels you in and gets in your head making it practically impossible not to find yourself singing along.

The distinctive vocals of lead singer Michael Williams are complimented by the harmonies, the numerous hooks and the pounding bass which make this track memorable and a clear front-runner for a highlight of their live gigs. With an EP to follow in the coming months, these boys are destined for big things.
